A friend
by Garrett inmy friend,.
if only i could count how many times i've been told that it's a holy organization run by imperfect humans.
i told you about 1975 but you said that the future is all that matters and not the past, i told you about "new light" and "old light" and i asked you, "who got the old light wrong?

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

its getting to a point that they are venerating this website (company logo) it's their version of the cross.

Years ago in the late 80's early 90's there was a dust-up over the WT logo being on the front of speaker stands in the congregation and at the Assembly Halls. It was sort of major because a number of us elders were upset at having the equivalent of a cross on the speaker's stand, it was the same thing we thought. We didn't represent WT so we didn't think it right for it to be there. Word came down from on high that logos were out. I think there was a letter to the BOE but can't remember. It wasn't a local thing though as I recall. -

I think it is their inability to control the flow of information any longer. The internet has spawned so many cancerous leaks and expose's that they cannot indoctrinate new recruits. Its the lack of new members that will kill it off. -

Should this Body of elders be considered blood guilty?
by dbq407 inover the weekend a very nice, caring individual was killed in a car accident after meeting.
she was 32 y/o and has a 3 year old daughter.
her husband was driving home from meeting when his car slid off the road, came back on the road, and was broad sided by a truck.

Put the blame where it belongs, the Governing Body. They have promoted the myth that meeting attendance equals salvation. That is why some will actually comment, "At least she died obeying Jehovah!" as if that will give her a gold star from God. And let's face it, ultimately the blame is on the husband for taking his family out in that weather. The elders? Not so much. Few people really take them so seriously that they will obey them blindly. I guess a few simpletons might, but what can you do?
